Bishop-elect Tito Ban Chong Thopanhong (Txwj Choo Thoj) celebrated a solemn Mass in Hmong at the Church of Saint Vincent de Paul on Sunday, July 17, 2005.
Bishop-elect Thopanhong is a great man of Faith and an inspiration to all who meet him, having suffered for many years for his fidelity to the Roman Catholic Church. We are grateful for his visit to Saint Paul during his short stay in the United States. He was officially welcomed by Auxiliary Bishop Richard Pates on behalf of Archbishop Flynn who was out of town.

Also joining in the festivities were Fr. Scott Carl (a local priest currently studying Sacred Scripture in Rome who spent several weeks ministering at Saint Vincent de Paul in the Spring of 2004) and Fr. Mark Vickers of the Archdiocese of Westminster, England (a good friend of the pastor Fr. Joseph Johnson).

Following the liturgy, parishioners and friends had a beautiful opportunity to visit with these distinguished guests as the ladies of the parish served a delicious luncheon in Wellisch Hall.
